Making A Macaron Pillow

I love a craft that is quick and easy and this is just that craft. I found an adorable sewing pattern in Zakka from the heart to sew macaron shaped pin cushions. After making one pin cushion, I was hooked! I took the concept of the pin cushion and decided on making ones the size of a pillow!

All you need to make the pillow is:

  • 2 yards fabric (polka dot is best!)
  • Scissors
  • Polyfil stuffing
  • Batting
  • Needle and thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Clips or pins

I made my pillow 12" round and created a foldable pattern piece so I can make this over and over. To do this, I put 4 sheets of printer paper together, drew a quarter of a circle and cut! That way it is perfectly even all the way around, then I taped them together. You will need four fabric circles to make the pillow.

After cutting the pieces, I sewed two together (twice) and then since the pillow is sandwiched, I cut a hole in the center of one side to turn it right side out.

Now, stuff the pillows and sew them all together for the final product! You can also shop the macaron ornaments for Christmas time right here in my shop.
